GBN Class of 2020 Community Car Parade

It’s time to celebrate our seniors! Join us on Sunday, May 17th, for a Community Car Parade past each of the seniors’ homes! Decorate your cars and/or homes in green and gold for what would have been prom weekend and join the parade route to honor this special group of students. Text “SENIORS2020” to RSVP at (847)686-3182. To ensure each senior is visited, the parade will be divided into multiple routes. Parade route(s) and additional information will be shared on this page and via text prior to the parade. (*Can’t join us for the whole parade? That’s OK! Use the parade map to tag in whenever you can!)

To help get in the Spartan spirit, Balloons by Tommy has generously offered to create Graduation Yard Signs and decor to create once-in-a-lifetime photo ops for our community with a portion of the proceeds donated to the GBN PTA. Please see photos below in the comments or visit Orders must be received by Wednesday, May 13th, for installation prior to the parade.

In accordance with the Northbrook Police Department, please abide by the following RULES:

1.) REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES, including when lining up for the parade. Anyone congregating outside of cars will be asked to leave the parade route. Failure to stay in your car could result in the cancellation of the parade. Please help us by STAYING IN YOUR CAR.

2.) OBEY ALL TRAFFIC RULES AND SIGNALS, including stop signs and red lights. Northbrook police will not be directing traffic flow, but they will be enforcing the law. Please stop for all red lights and stop signs and follow the parade route map to catch up if you become separated.

3.) KEEP MOVING during the parade. We will drive slowly to allow opportunities for photo ops and to shout out our best wishes to all our graduates. However, cars MUST KEEP MOVING at all times.

***This event is not sponsored by Glenbrook North. We are just moms in the community, most with seniors, who want to make sure we lift our graduates’ spirits as often and as loudly as we can. We hope you will join us in making lifelong memories for the end of their senior year!
